LANARK LANIMER DAY
An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.

SUNDAY 3 JUNE

11.40am Procession leaves Memorial Hall for The Cross via High Street.
12 noon Kirkin' of the Lord Cornet-Elect, Brian Ross, in St Nicholas Parish Church.
Bob Barrie Memorial Trophy:
Invitation Fours at Lanark Waterloo Bowling Club, Waterloo Road.

MONDAY 4 JUNE

6.00pm Perambulation of the Marches leaves Sheriff Court, Hope Street.
7.15pm Display of Dancing at Lanark Cross, by Celia Orr School of Dancing (weather permitting).
7.50pm Lanimer Silver Club Draw by Mrs Katrina Ross.
8.00pm

Equestrian Procession and Perambulation group leave from top of St Leonard Street.
8.15pm Shifting of the Standard of the Royal Burgh of Lanark ceremony at Lanark Cross,
  Followed by Sashing of the Lord Cornet by Mrs Margaret Weir.
  Pinning of the Cornets' Club Badge on the Lord Cornet by Mrs June McGregor.
  Award of Jimmy Hamilton Memorial Shield to best turned out young rider.

6.00pm Lord Cornet's Official Ride-out leaves The Cross, via High Street, Golf Course and the Old Drove Road, to the Barracks, then up the Racecourse.

Traditional Lanimer Races at Lanark Racecourse
  Thence to the Clear Burn March Stone via Robiesland and on to New Lanark.
  Welcome from New Lanark Community Council and offer of good wishes to President of Lord Cornets' Club.

Presentation of the New Lanark 'Loving Cup' to Lanimer Queen-Elect, Jenna McLellan.
  Ride out returns via Braxfield to Delves Park.

THURSDAY 7 JUNE

8.30am Lord Cornet and supporting ex-Lord Cornets process from his home via Cleghorn Road and Gallowhill Road to assemble in Memorial Hall car park, thence to the Bloomgate.
9.00am Assembly and judging of Lanimer entries: top of St Leonard Street and adjacent streets.
9.30am Massed bands accompany Lord Cornet's equestrian procession from Bloomgate to Memorial Hall via High Street (N).
9.40am "Safe Oot, Safe In" Toast by Provost of South Lanarkshire Council, at Memorial Hall.
  Procession then continues up St Leonard Street to Highburgh Avenue.
