LANARK LANIMER DAY
An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.
 

Getting to Lanark on Lanimer Day 2008

Allow time to get a good vantage spot on the procession route.
 

Satellite Navigation:

 

Set for Lanark: Hyndford Road, Whitelees Road (Parking at school) ML11 7RX or Cleghorn Avenue (Parking at playing fields ML11 7AZ) Expect police and road closures at access points.

     

From the M74:

 

From the south: Take the A73 from Abington to Hyndford Bridge From the north: Take the A72 Clydeside road via Crossford to Lanark.

     

From the A80 and north:

 

Take the A73 via Airdrie, Newhouse, Newmains and Carluke Police may be at Carluke. They will advise. Or, take M73, then M74. Go off at A72, as above.

     

From A77/M77:

 

Take A726 junction to East Kilbride. Follow signs for M74, then A72 as above.

Check local station times with Lanark arrival before 10am. The procession route passes the stairway out of the Station.
