LANARK LANIMER DAY
An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.
 

Getting to Lanark on Lanimer Day 2009

You should plan your journey to take into account the following Road Closures:
 
During processions -
 
A73 (W) Market Cross/Hyndford Road
A73 (E) at Bloomgate - A706 at Hope Street
A743 throughout St Leonard Street
 
Restrictions/diversions all day -
 
A72, A73, A706, A743.
Police will advise on access and parking.
 
Allow time to get to a good vantage point on the procession route. Try to be in Lanark by 8.30am.
 
BY TRAIN
 
Check local station times for arrival at Lanark before 10am. Direct access to procession route from Station.
