LANARK LANIMER DAY
An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.
 

The Lord Cornet's Lanimer Day 2010

8.15am   Lord Cornets' Club members escort Lord Cornet Geoff Smith from his residence to the Harry Smith Centre, via St Leonard Street, Kenilworth Road, Woodstock Road and Thomas Taylor Avenue.
8.30am   Arrival at Harry Smith Centre where Front Party meets with Councillors and Guests.
'Safe Oot, Safe In' Toast by Provost of South Lanarkshire, within Centre.
9.10am   Riders leave and proceed to Bloomgate via Thomas Taylor Avenue, Woodstock Road, Kenilworth Road (Shand's Opening), St Leonard Street, Kildare Road, Gallowhill Road, Cleghorn Road and Hope Street.
9.30am   Massed bands and riders leave Bloomgate for St Leonard Street via High Street (North).
9.45am   Mounted Lord Cornets' Procession and principals turn into Highburgh Avenue.
    Spectators are asked to keep clear access to Highburgh Avenue, Stanmore Avenue and St Leonards Road.
These are official points for Lord Cornet's Procession and Bands to enter St Leonard Street.
10.00am   Lord Cornet leads Morning Procession from St Leonard Street at Highburgh Avenue.
11.30am (approx)   Lord Cornet carries Burgh Standard of the Royal Burgh of Lanark to Crowning Dias.
1.40pm   Lord Cornet leads Foot Procession to Castlebank from Charing Cross, via Ladyacre Road, Bannatyne Street, High Street (South Side) and Castlegate.
2.20pm   Lord Cornet leads Official Ride-Out from Delves Park to Clearburn, via Wellgatehead, Braxfield Road and Bankhead Farm Road.
2.35pm   Clearburn to Racecourse Entrance, via the Lady Mary towards Robiesland, left to Robiesland Road to Hyndford Road, and across to Country Park car park.
2.50pm   Racecourse to Sandy Brae/Golf Club via Racecourse, anti-clockwise to Wednesday Ride Out, to Sandy Brae and staying on path to Golf Course.
3.10pm   Whitelees Road to Smyllum House via railway bridge and avenue to house.
3.20pm   The Avenue, Smyllum to St Leonard Street.
3.35pm   St Leonard Street via Mouse Brig Stone at Cleghorn, back to Smyllum House via fields.
4.20pm   Smyllum House to Market Corner via railway bridge, right onto Whitelees Road, left at Ladyacre Road.
5.15pm   Massed Bands and Lord Cornets' Evening Procession leaves Ladyacre Road/Hyndford Road, via Ladyacre Road, Bannatyne Street, High Street (South), for The Cross.
Front Party enters arena at cross via Broomgate and Hyndford Place.
5.30pm   Lord Cornet Geoff Smith makes his Declaration at Lanark Cross.
7.30pm   Lord Cornet attends Lanimer Queen's Reception.
