LANARK LANIMER DAY
An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.

I'll Wake Up Soon

A singular honour's been granted to me,
By the Lanimer Committee,
Three of whom visited me.
(Maybe I'll wake up soon!)

"We'd like to extend an invitation
To perform the Coronation
Of the Lanimer Queen, 'midst jubilation."
(I'm sure to wake up soon!)

Shortly after there came to the door
The Lord Cornet Elect, and many more,
Who all their best wishes did pour on me.
(I'm bound to wake up soon!)

Then the 'phone began to ring,
Letting folk their best wishes bring,
As word round Lanark swift did wing!
(Let me wake up soon!)

I don't know if I'm on head or hells.
My head it whirls: my mind it reels;
I'm numb; I'm excited, so how do I feel?
(I suppose I'll wake up soon!)
