LANARK LANIMER DAY
An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.

Is there something in the air or perhaps it's the water in Nemphlathill?

Over the years a total of eight Ladies-in-Waiting, two Heralds, one Lord Cornet and one Crowning Lady have came from this area containing only nineteen houses.

It began in 1972 with Susan Gibson, a Lady-in-Waiting. Then there was Lex Gibson who was Lord Cornet in 1983. Next came Ann Bradley, a Lady-in-Waiting in 1994, Paul Hughes, a Herald in 1996, Nikki McLachlan, a Lady-in-Waiting in 1997, Stephanie McLachlan in 1998 when Andrew Hilland was Sceptre Bearer, Alison Somerville in 2000, the same year as Byrnece Gibson was Crowning Lady, Kathleen Bradley in 2002, Laura Somerville in 2004 and finally our latest Lady-in-Waiting for 2005, Katrina Hughes.

No Lanimer Queens so far, but who knows what the future might hold!
