An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.

JAMES ALEXANDER, Glenbreck, Caldwellside, a local master butcher who has worked hard for Lanimers for years. He is an active member of the Lanimer Committee, was Captain of Lanark's winning Knock-Out Team, he has ridden at most of the other March Ridings and is a Mosstrooper of Hawick. He has ridden since he was eight and has participated in the equestrian processions at Lanark since 1947. Jim is married with three children and they in turn have a pony of their own.
