GEORGE EDWARD DOOLAN, 96 Hyndford Road, Lanark — a local television engineer and the youngest member of Lanark Town Council before it was dissolved in May of this year. For many years his father's Fruit Nursery at Glenburnie, the "ancestral home" of the Doolan family has been the first official stop on the Monday night Perambulation of the Marches when sprigs of birk are handed out to the large crowds following the Lord Cornet Elect and the first March Stone nearby is inspected. George is married with three children, Margaret (9) John (6) and Donald (3).
