An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.

	NICOL W. AITKEN, "Pennyghael", 4 Scarlet Muir, Lanark, is this year's Lord Cornet. Nicol is Managing Director of an old-established firm of wine and spirit merchants. He is an active member of the Lanimer Committee and last August was appointed Convener of the Sports and Entertainments Committee. He is a member of Lanark Rotary Club and also Chairman of the International Twinning Association. He and his wife Brenda, have two children, Evelyn 14, and Scott, 17.
