An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.

WILLIAM R. HUTTON, "St. Anthony", 9 Braedale Road, Lanark is this year's Lord Cornet. Bill, a Dental Surgeon, is involved in various organisations within the town. He is a past Secretary of Lanark Rugby Club, a member of the Squash Club, Golf Club, Swimming Club, Rotary Club, and a Past President of the Speakers Club. He was also a member of the Community Council, a Past Chairman of the Town Twinning Committee, and a founder member of the Upper Clyde Operatic Society. He sings in St. Kentigern's Church Choir. He and his wife, Pat, have two children, Susan (13) and David (11).
