An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.

	LEONARD GRAY, Lord Comet on Ballantrae. A graduate of Strathclyde and the Open University, Leonard Gray is a Director of Braedale Electronics, and works in Biggar. He is active in many of the town's activities, including the Community Council and the Y.M.C.A. and is Convener of the Lanimer Entertainments Committee.
