An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.

Thirty-Nine year old PAUL ARCHIBALD, is a man who has proved himself a good friend to many of Lanark's organisations. Born and educated in Lanark. Paul joined the library service straight from school, and he now specialises in information, reference and local studies. His interest in local history led him to join the Royal Burgh of Lanark Museum Trust in 1990. He is currently its chairman, and last year he helped launch a support group, the Friends of the Museum. He is also a founder member of the Clydesdale Museums Forum. Paul is a keen photographer, in great demand for his Lanimer photographs, a former president of the Lanark Camera Club, a member of Lanark Garden Club, and Chairman of the Friends of Castlebank, set up to promote and improve the park. He is also active on the Lanimer Entertainments Committee. Paul and his wife Lisa live at 7 Westport, Lanark.
