An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.

This years Lord Cornet is forty two year old RICHARD PATERSON. Richard is a carpentry and building technology lecturer at Cambuslang College and is a popular choice as the Royal Burgh's Standard Bearer. Born in Forth, Richard has played an important part in the Lanark Community for more than 20 years. He is a member of the Guildry and a committee member of the YMCA. For many years Richard has been very involved in putting young people through their Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and still organises ski trips both at home and abroad. He is married to Jan and has two children, Alan 11 and Laura 8.
