Lanimer Queen Elect 2005 Selected

Lanimer Queen-Elect

Lanark's Lanimer Queen for 2005 will be Kirstie Surganor (11) of P7 at New Lanark Primary School. She was voted Queen-Elect by her fellow pupils on Monday. She lives in Lanark's Bankhead Terrace. With her are her Chief Maids from the school, Samanatha Johnstone and Tammy Blacklaw plus Ladies in Waiting Alison Harwood and Megan Denholm. At time of going to press it was still to be decided who would take the roles of Proclamation Bearer and Crown Bearer, Euan Stewart or Scott McKinlay. Pages from the school will be Nethan McKinlay (Scott's brother) and Zach McGinnies. The rest of the Lanimer court will be chosen by other schools in the area shortly.

Queen-elect's grandmother Mary told the Gazette this week that she, Kirstie's grand-dad and Kirstie's parents were "full of pride" that she was to be crowned Lanimer Queen, 2005.
