Junior RideThe Lord Cornets’ Club held their inaugural Junior Ride Out on Saturday 31st May, when a group of young riders were able to ride some of the routes taken by the Lord Cornets during Lanimer Week. Accompanied by Lord Cornet Brian Ross, Ex-Lord Cornet Iain McLauchlan and Mrs Mary Bryson, the riders left Lanark Racecourse and rode via Robiesland, the Lady Mary, Braxfield Road, Delves Park, Kirkfieldbank and Corehouse. They returned by the reverse route to the Racecourse two and a half hours later, on a day blessed with sunny weather. Each of the riders was then presented with a Rider’s Badge and a Lanimer Medal. The organiser of the event, Ex-Lord Cornet Bill Tennant, would like to thanks everyone who contributed to the success of the day. It is hoped that the Ride Out will be repeated again next year and become an integral part of the run up to Lanimer Week.
