An ancient celebration held within the Royal Burgh of Lanark on the Thursday between the Sixth and Twelfth days of June annually since the year 1140.

MRS.
ANDREW YUILL, Whitehouse, as wife of the Provost, will for the third
time present the official " sash " provided each year by the Town
Council to the Lord Cornet on Monday night after he receives the
Burgh Standard. Mrs. Yuill plays an active part in local affairs,
being amongst other things Assistant Commissioner of the Girl Guides
and an Organiser for funds for the proposed Guide Hall. |
