Lanimer Silver Club

2007 Silver Club winner Steve Bouchard from Jersey being presented with his £1,000 cheque by Joint Convenor Jennifer Johnstone.
What is it? What part does it play in Lanimers?

The Silver Club is Lanark's own Lottery and it is the main contributor to the cost of Lanimers.

A Silver Club membership costs just £10 and you receive a ticket which is valid from January to December and is entered in a monthly draw. First prize is £100, second £50, six prizes of £25 and eleven of £10. That's nineteen chances to win a prize every month! All prizes are posted to the lucky winners. During Lanimer week the draw takes place on Marches Night and is special in that the £100 prize is replaced by five prizes of £1000 each. December too has an increased first prize of £1000 worth of holiday vouchers.

Why should you become a member?

The children from Lanark, Kirkfieldbank and surrounding area have the opportunity each year of taking part in Lanimers:- walking round the Marches, dancing at the Cross, running races, being in the Court, dressing up for a pageant, carrying birks, performing at the Reception. What memories they will have as they grow up and eventually pass on to the next generation. As long as Lanimers continues our children will benefit from being part of a great tradition.

Lanimers is also a great family "gathering" occasion. What better reason to join the Lanimer Silver Club.

Tickets may be purchased at Braedale Electronics, St Leonard Street, or Hughes Newsagent, Bannatyne Street, Lanark.

Membership is renewed in November so why not put a Silver Club ticket in a Christmas stocking. Happy Lanimers.
